Racism's greatest trick
Is convincing you it doesn't exist
Only the dumbest racists
Admit being racist
But it's the smart ones
You've got to watch out for
They're in Congress
And in City Hall
And in corporate suites
And in uniform
They may not be the majority
But there are still enough of them
To manipulate the law
And the media
And inspire fear
And anger and spite
And they're not all white
That's the strange part
You would think people
Would know better
Given the history
But time goes on
And we learn nothing
Maybe progress is inevitable
But it sure is slow
And sometimes it goes backwards
